Faith Brings Miracles
In our modern day world we hear all kinds of beliefs, perhaps no different then what people back in Christ’s time believed. One major difference between the two is the power of belief. People at the time of Christ believed in a more active spiritual world. gods had power of life and death, over type of seasons, over sickness and famine. We in the western world, for the most part, see our God or gods as more of standoffish. The people at the time of Jesus Christ seen their gods as standoffish, as far as being impersonable but still veiwed their god as being involved in society. We see our God or gods as only being their at the time of death. For the most part we seen our world not influence by our god. What happens in the world is directly up to us, and that in itself is not untrue.
Because of how we see our world we can nolonger see miracles, and feel the power of belief. We read in scripture that Jesus did many miracles healing, "…healing every kind of disease and every kind of sickness."(Matt. 9:35). Power of Miracles required faith. In the time of Jesus Christ as He was teaching from town to town people began to flock to him because of what He was teaching. His words seem to bring comfort to the crowds, and in one incident there was a women who had endured much at the hands of many physicians and yet she could find no help. She heard about this man called Jesus and believed He could help her. She pushed herself through the crowds hoping just to touch the garment. She believed by doing so she would be healed. She managed to get through the crowds and reach her hand out and touch Jesus Garment and at the moment was healed. What Jesus says to her is not only interesting but most powerful. Jesus felt power going from Him and he looked around and sees this women and says, "…your faith has made you well; go in peace, and be healed of your affliction."(MK 5:24-34).
Faith brough this women healing. We in western society nolonger believe such things really happen are possible. That is no different then in Jesus time we read in MK 6) that Jesus could do no miracles in His home town except a few. They could not accept the fact that this carpenter could do such things. Faith Brings Miracles, and our society has lost the power of faith. Now that is not so in all parts of our world.
Perhaps you may be familiar with Peter Youngren. He is the founder of World Impact Ministries. Peter Youngre had permission to go to Pakistan, and while in pakistn there were many healing, many miracles took place. Some of the incidents remind me of the time of Jesus, people traveling for miles just to hear him speak and believing they would be healed, and they were. Yes, Faith Brings Miracles
