Freezer Spells

For the most part, I think that spells can be a valuable way to “act” out your anger, resentment, bitterness or jealousy. The very act of doing a spell can make a person who feels powerless or victimized, feel at least briefly, for at time that they are somehow in control of the situation again. I have found the following “freezer” spells to be quite satisfying to do, if you find yourself somehow dumped, oppressed or just plain wishing for some kind of psychological torture to stop. I am not completely sure if these spells or not, but when someone does me wrong, the first thing that pops into mind is the frosty insides of my refrigerator.

 I love these spells because they fall under the category of corny spells, trailer trash wiccanary and because they originate from such an emotional, passionate and old style of witchcraft. Yet at the same time they are very modern because they make use of the fridge. Technically too, they fall under the category of black magic because they are revenge spells, and represent the desire to control another person. Being somewhat of a collector and connoisseur of corny spells, trailer trash wiccanary and any ritual that allows you to “act out your feelings” without necessarily hurting anyone, I

thought I’d share them with you because they are a few of my favourites. Some of them have been sourced from Lexa Rosean, author of the Supermarket Sorceress who is a master of Kitchen Witchery. Still I think the important thing about a freezer spell is to start with the basics and then make it your own. I know one natural witch, (a famous Canadian singer in fact) who knows nothing about freezer spells, yet every time she gets mad at someone, she writes their name on a little piece of paper, twists it up and throws it in the freezer to “make it stop!” I discovered this one day when I was groping through her freezer for some ice cream and a flutter of little pi

eces of paper fell out to the floor. When I asked her about it, she told me her intuition had told her to put the people “on ice.”

The essence of a freezer spell is about time. The idea is to stop something in its tracks. Freezer spells also fall into the category of binding spells, as often their purpose is to paralyse an offender. They are used for protection, but mainly for REVENGE! Here are a few of my favourites.

THE BASIC ICE CUBE TRAY SPELL: This is all-purpose and what I like about it is that you can use magickal ingredients to sweeten or sour the mix before you chuck it in the freezer. Basically, you take twelve small pieces of paper and write down the names twelve people or situations who have not been very nice to you or who have irked you or done you wrong. Think of twelve people who have been hostile to you, or who have a bad attitude towards you or who have behaved as obstacles to what you want in your life or career. Now stick these twelve pieces of paper in the ice cube tray compartments and add a little sugar, or honey to sweeten up their attitude towards you. You could also add a few other things as well if you wanted – a little dill or parsley powder for improved communication, orange water for joy or rose water to increase loving vibrations. Then you fill the rest of the tray with water and stick in the freezer. I like this spell because it is relatively innocent and is persuading others to think of you kindly and not to harm you. A more vengeful version of this spell would be to add substances like vinegar (to sour their experiences) cigarette ashes (to cause depression) or horseradish (to cause arguments.)

If your resentment is directed towards a particular individual, perhaps a male who has dumped you for some one else you might consider doing this IMPOTENCE spell. While shopping for the cucumber at your local vegetable store, try and find one that resembles your ex-partner’s actual member when it is erect. At the very least this will get you giggling. Then carve his name and his birth-date into the flesh of the cucumber and throw it into the freezer. It will start to go soft and wither after a few weeks, and while this happens, imagine him and the sweet young thing that he betrayed you having conversations like “I swear this has never happened to me before.” “It’s ok. I understand.”

 Cast Spells

 The ultimate freezer spell however, in terms of sheer nastiness, is this BREAK THEM UP freezer spell in which you write the offending couple’s names on a piece of paper (if you don’t know the name of the person coming between you write “unknown rival”) You put the pieces of paper in a Tupperware container along with a piece of rotten fish, fill it with water and freeze it. Fish are symbols of fertility and happiness, so the ultimate purpose of this ritual is to have the two lovers become turned off from each other. One person, who tried this spell, told me she laughed her head off, when her boyfriend came back to her and complained that his new lover had terrible B.O. I haven’t tried this one myself, but she says it worked. Lexa Rosean also boasts success with this one.

I can’t guarantee these spells work, but if you are too chicken to enact some real revenge (like turn the person into the I.R.S.) these little rituals at least satisfy a desire for “petty revenge”.

Some people believe there are no differences between white and black magic. They believe that all forms of magic are evil if they are to attain some power or control over another. Many religious sects believe that the use of magic is unholy because it draws power from something other than the divine spirit and it is an attempt by the user to become divines themselves with the use of the power of magic.  Others believe there is a difference and the difference is in the intent of the user. Black magic is for evil and white magic is for good. Here is the dilemma. What is good and what is evil? Of course, everyone would say something that causes harm to another is evil, but what about a spell that woul

d stop a murderer but hurt him in the process. That does harm, and yet in reality, it also saves innocent victims. So, is it white magic or black magic? Again, it’s the same spell AND the intent is to do harm, but it’s used against someone that’s harming others. The irony here is that it’s only a judgment call. A person that believes their family is in danger and uses magic to save them might be considered a black magician by the family of the victim.

Folk magic divides white magic and black magic into categories by not only the intent, but also the tools of the magician or sorcerer. The tools of the black magician are often pointed, caustic and hot. They involve personal items from their victims like hair or blood and the spells are cast at night and often demons from the underworld are asked to help carry it out.

The white magic definition that most of the masses visualize comes from television shows like “Bewitched

” or “Charmed” where the heroines only use their magic to protect themselves, create a better life or right a wrong. Many of the white magicians offer innocuous spells like love spells. Who could be hurt by that? Do they work? Sometimes they do but often that’s because the person requesting the love spell acts differently because they believe the spell works. It’s the new personality that attracts the life partner, not the spell. Many white magicians find it unethical to cast love spells because it affects the other person without their permission.

Some practitioners of the black arts seek the aid of demonic powers to help them in their pursuit. Their goal is evil or death. White magic often is used to heal. Many of the practitioners of white magic believe that whatever you send out to the universe in the form of magic, comes back to you three fold, so you need to be very careful and loving with all of your spells.

The biggest factor in separating black magic from white magic is the moral code of those that practice it. You often hear those versed in the art of white magic to profess to the use of only white magic. This is because they know the difference and use their moral code to guide them. While there are many places to find spells, it’s not wise for the dabbler to attempt them before they decide exactly what they want, why they want it and how it will affect them. By the time they analyze the situation, they normally find that there are non-occult methods of attaining their goals.

Spell Casting Checklist: Setting the Mood for Success Before you Begin

Spell casting always seems to be stereotypically shown as some spooky ritual that involves a full moon, black candles, sacrificial ceremonies, and plenty of magical potions, powders and props. This is not an entirely accurate picture. Magical dealings need not be so strict in nature. There are certain items that are needed to cast a spell, but what you use and how you use it are ultimately up to you.

e such an inflexible art, but this is a prevalent misconception. First and foremost, when casting a spell, the caster must be in the proper mindset. If you are stressed about your job, bill payments, family issues, etc. this could throw off your focus and the spell will either not work or the effectiveness of it will be diminished. Seasoned casters suggest meditation, grounding rituals, and cleansing baths before attempting a spell, so you can be rejuvenated and fresh for the task at hand. Many spell casters will perform their spells “skyclad” or naked, or in special robes they keep solely for this purpose, but you may dress in whatever you feel most comfortable in.

Tools of the Trade

Those experienced in spell casting will most likely already have an altar on which to perform the spell, but for beginners who do not have altars yet, they are very simple to construct. Altars are small tables usually made of wood, metal or ceramic. They may be as simple or elaborate as you like. They are usually covered in an altar cloth. The altar cloth is most usually white or black, but should be varied to match the kind of spell you are casting, for example: if you are casting a love spell, it should be pink or red, or for a money or prosperity spell, it should

be green. Altar cloths can also be very simple or ornate. You may even wish to make your own, that way you can infuse your own personal energy into it.

Spell Casting Aids

When conducting spells, there are many items that can aid you. Firstly, you may choose to play music during your spell. It is very common, when casting a love spell, to play favorite romantic songs. However, when playing music, the volume should be kept to a minimum so as to not disrupt your focus or to make you break the circle to wrestle with the volume. Candles are also widely used in spell casting. Not only do they provide adequate mood lighting, but each candle color is attributed with certain emotions or powers, for example, a pink or red candle would be used for a love spell as those colors are attributed to feelings of romantic love. Therefore, the caster, depending on the type of spell, should be sure to pick the appropriate color of candle to enhance the potential potency of their spell. Herbs, crystals and incense are widely used in spell casting to enhance the energy or power of the spell. The scents of lavender, vanilla, honeysuckle and gardenia are used mostly for love spells. Another integral tool used in casting is the athame, which is a ritual dagger with a double-sided edge and a black handle. The athame is never used to cut anything physical and is most often used to cast the magical circle.

Other Things to Consider

There are many other tools that can be used, but are not necessary to the craft. Many altars usually include a chalice, which represents the element of water, which will usually hold water or wine for drinking after the spell casting is complete. There is also usually a wand representing Air that can be made of wood, metal, or bone. Most altars will include a pentacle or small pendant that will typically be used to cleanse other items on the altar. Cauldrons are also usually found on altars as well. They are normally placed there for a more “witchy” effect and are used infrequently. Timing should also be considered when preparing for spell casting

. Each lunar phase and day of the week is associated with different deities and planets. Therefore on certain days, particular energies might be more potent. An ideal time to cast a love spell would be on a Friday as that particular day is associated with Venus.

Casting The Circle

In order to start your spell, first the circle must be cast. A circle is simply a space that is used as your realm of power in which to perform your spell. It should be in a place that is free from distraction, such as televisions, telephones and all other everyday appliances. The space should be cleansed with the sprinkling of salt water to ensure that any negative energy is banished. When your space is ready, the circle must be drawn. You may use your finger, wand, or athame, to draw a symbolic circle approximately 9 feet in diameter. Those skilled in spell casting can simply call up their circle through visualization, but the circle may physically be defined as well with stones, gems, earth, or candles. After casting the circle, it is time to invoke the elements to help you with your magical deed. The four elements to be called forth are Air (East), Fire (South), Water (West), and Earth (North). Simply stand in the direction associated with the element and politely ask for each Guardian to join you and watch over you during your spell. After the Guardians have joined you, then you may invite any other spirits and deities that you wish. At this point, you are ready to perform your spell.

When casting a spell, setting the proper mood is integral to success. If the energy is not correctly balanced, the spell will simply not be effective. Spell casting is a very personal and powerful way to commune with your inner self and the universe and there are numerous ways to go about it. Regardless of whether you have the appropriate tools, words, and timing, if your mood is not suited to your spell, it is sure to fail.

Human perception of magic and those that practice it has been skewed by popular culture and literature. It is only recently that witches have received some positive highlights and horrible hags of yesteryears are finally receiving their due.

Magic refers to control of external circumstances through mental means and anyone who practices magic is called a witch. ‘Spell’ is the witch’s word for prayer because like a prayer a spell is an appeal to the higher powers for the fulfillment of a desire. Thus, a spell is a way of worship and need to be enacted with the dignity a sacred rite deserves. The way a spell is cast depends up on the complexity of desire and it can be as simple as chanting an incantation or as elaborate as fertility dance. However, there are some basic methodologies that apply to all spells.

Learn The Secrets

The first step to magic spell is to consult the phase of the moon to determine the appropriate time for performing the spell. On the chosen day the witch casts a circle and calls of the four quarters. This basically means that the witch consecrates the space with circular (or spherical) boundaries and evokes the spirits and Gods within that space to bless their magic. The manner in which this is done depends entirely on the witch. The next step refers to the offerings given to please the Gods and direct them towards the heart’s desires. These include candles, herbs, crystals and essential oils among other things. For instance, in a spell to attract wealth, there are green or gold candles, herbs like patchouli and dill and the crystal that works best is malachite. It is not necessary to have all these things present since obtaining them can be an expensive affair. If the intent is sincere enough, even the most minimalistic ritual will work. The same ritual may need to be repeated over a number of days to achieve results. Before the spell is concluded, the quarters need to be thanked then sent away and the circle has to be closed.

It is essential to remember that magic works on the principle of what goes round, comes round and so individuals need to be careful what they wish for.
